How to begin?

                                                 How to begin?

It is a problem or is it?
Let us begin with the articles. In our mother tongue there are no articles or prepositions as such. But we have to learn to use the correct articles and prepositions or the teachers will rebuke us.

A, An & The------------these are the three articles. They are actually adjectives.

1. A boy, a girl, a flower, a fish, a banana, a man, a teacher, a chair, etc. We use A when we mean one unit of anything. Pronunciation of the first letter determines whether we use A or An.
2. If the first letter of a word indicates a single consonant sound we use A to mean one unit of a particular thing, matter or person. We cannot pronounce a consonant sound without the help of a vowel sound. Thus we use A before ONE or UNIVERSITY. One begins with O but we get two vowel sounds= o+a (owa). Similarly University begins with U which gives two vowel sounds= e+u (ewe). So we use the article A instead of An.
