LESSON-1

                                     -                    LESSON-1

We all know that English is now the Lingua Franca of the world. We have to learn the language to survive in this modern world. It is really difficult to learn a language and its nuances if you are not a native speaker. We learn our mother tongue naturally and easily because our mothers speak the language and they begin teaching us the language from the very day we are born. We hear a lot of sound before we can utter the first incoherent words or parts of words. A deaf by birth baby becomes dumb because he or she does not hear any sound. So my first suggestion to the interested learner would be: Listen to the sound of the language you intend to learn. If you want to learn English as a second language make it a habit of listening to the sounds of the English Language. Listen to the news channels, watch movies, listen to music or listen to sports commentaries of your choice. At first you will find it difficult to understand and comprehend what is being said. Don't worry. Just keep on listening to those foreign sounds. Now you take a newspaper of your choice or any story book you like and read it loudly. You will recollect some sounds that you have already heard. You will feel confident. THIS IS CALLED FAMILIARIZATION.
