Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose

We all know that Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and the then Brtish Government had no love lost between them. He had tremendous hatred against against the British Government because they had unleashed inhuman torture and  atrocities  against the innocent Indians. Yet he sat for the ICS Examination in deference to his father's wish. He came out with flying colours and stood fourth in the Examination. In the Viva voce test he was asked some interesting and difficult questions because the wanted to fail him. One of the question was a) How many buckets of water are there in the ocean? Subhash replied,'' It depends on the size of the bucket." The interviewers were stumped. The second question was b) What is the difference between a soldier and a woman? They thought they had called Subhsh on the wrong foot. How wrong they were! Subhash gave them a brillisnt answer: A woman powders her face and a soldier faces the powders. The examiners were stunned.

Now let us discuss one point here. English language has become the most popular international language not for nothing. It is a very rich and expressive language . One of the most important features of this language is its elasticity flexibility. Subhash Bose had used the two words FACE and POWDER both as nouns and verbs in the same sentence. ''A woman powders( verb ) her face (noun) and a soldier faces (verb) the powder.(noun). Subhash was a brilliant student. he had acquired mastery over the language. But you can also use many nouns as verbs in English. Take the help of a good dictionary and prepare yourself. Let me give you a short list. Use the following words both as nouns and vers in separate sentences.

mother, father, head, face, mouth, nose, eye, hand, back, share, care, smell, look, rain, water, storm, school, know, dream, sleep, walk, talk, lecture, demand, supply, export, import, issue, issue, use.....

I know you can do it. Give it a try. Don't shy away from the task. ( We generally use the word SHY as an adjective. But in this sentence I have used it as a verb.)
